First Cloud & built-in services

Give your idea a working backend.

First Cloud brings a database, sign-in and app file storage to generated apps without requiring your own Supabase account. Forms, Media Cloud and publishing work alongside it in First.

First Cloud and Forms must be available and enabled. A generated screen is a starting point: configure and test the workflows, permissions and integrations your app needs.

Start building for free

From a request to a connected app.

  1. 01

    Describe the workflow

Explain who will use the app, what they need to save, and which areas should be private. For example: a client portal with sign-in and project records.

  2. 02

    Choose your backend

When a backend is needed and First Cloud is available, First asks whether to use First Cloud or your own Supabase connection. First Cloud setup continues within the build.

  3. 03

    Test, refine and publish

Check sign-in, saved records, file access and form submissions with sample data. Refine through chat, publish, then check those same workflows on the live app.

What each service does.

Sign-in for your app

Use First Cloud to add user accounts to a customer portal or members-only app. Configure and test who can sign in and what each person can access.

Built-in database

Use a First Cloud database for records such as customers, tasks and bookings. Test that changes save correctly and that people can access only the records they should.

App file storage

First Cloud provides app file storage for workflows that need uploads. Build and test the upload, download and access rules for your particular app.

Forms with a submissions inbox

Collect enquiries, feedback or registrations with First Forms when enabled. Review submissions in your project, export CSV, and keep preview responses separate from production.

Email for your app

Set up invitation and account-confirmation emails for your app, and receive email notifications when someone submits a published form.

Media Cloud library

Add images and video through the builder’s media library. Media Cloud stores and delivers that media through First’s CDN. Visitor file uploads are a separate app workflow.

A link you can share

Publish your app to a free onfirst.app address. Connect a custom domain on a paid plan. Test your live workflows after publishing.

Availability, usage and expectations.

The Free plan lists authentication, database, file storage, Forms and Media Cloud among its included capabilities. Availability depends on the corresponding services being enabled. Included access does not mean unlimited usage.

Generating and editing code, running a workspace, validating changes and metered services in published apps use credits. Media Cloud uploads and delivery do not use credits. Current allowances and prices are on the pricing page.

An app that looks complete may still need configuration. Verify account access, record permissions, persisted data and uploads before using real customer information. Payments and third-party booking services need their own integration setup.

First Cloud app storage and Media Cloud serve different purposes. Media added through the builder does not automatically create a visitor upload feature in your app.
